Northampton midfielder Kevin Thornton has been offered a month-to-month contract after returning for pre-season training.
Town manager Gary Johnson told the Irishman towards the end of last season that he would only remain at Sixfields if he stayed fit during the summer. "He's come back very fit and very strong and very committed. I'm really pleased with him," Johnson told the Chronicle & Echo. "We had to make sure he looked after himself over the summer, which he must have done, and he can't do any more than that. "The option we have on him is for another month, and then it is another month and so on for as many months as I want to keep him at the club. If I feel at any time that he deserves a longer period then I will talk to him."
