Northampton boss Gary Johnson is pleased with his side's performance despite their Johnstone's Paint Trophy 1-2 loss to Huddersfield.
Top scorer Lee Novak came off the bench to grab the late winner for the League One side after Donal McDermott had given the visitors the lead with his first goal for the club since signing in the summer. In between, Michael Jacobs had put Northampton back on level terms. Johnson was delighted with the way his side performed against higher opposition, especially on the back of some disappointing results at the start of their League Two campaign. "We got our respect back and the players put in a very good performance after Saturday's disappointment," said Johnson. "I think half the crowd were disappointed to see us get beat and the other half seemed to appreciate the effort the players put in. "We were undone by two quality goals from Huddersfield but there was much more motivation out there and we need to take that into our league games."
