Amankwaah leaves Cobblers

Northampton have confirmed the termination of defender Kevin Amankwaah's contract with immediate effect.
The 31-year-old, who counts Yeovil and Swindon among a host of former clubs, only arrived at Sixfields in the summer on a one-year deal following his release from Exeter. Amankwaah made 24 appearances for the struggling Cobblers, the last of which came in the 2-0 defeat to York on January 11. Northampton are bottom of the Football League and are five points adrift of safety.
