Lawson D'Ath has signed a new contract at Northampton to keep him at Sixfields until 2016.

The midfielder only joined the Cobblers in the summer on a deal until January following his release from Reading, but has made an immediate impression. He has four goals in three starts for the club, including two on his debut in Northampton's shock 3-2 Capital One Cup win at Wolves last month. "He has done really well for us, either starting games or coming off the bench," boss Chris Wilder told the club's official site. "We feel he has done enough, and shown enough potential, for us to want him to be part of the squad we are building for the longer term. "Lawson is still only 21 and he will continue to develop but if he can continue to work as hard as he has done, he will be a very good player for the club. "His new contract reflects the progress he has made and the potential we feel he has to develop further."
