Northampton have signed Accrington forward James Gray on loan for the rest of the season.
Gray, 22, has not featured for Stanley since January 31 and is without a goal in his last 10 league games. He agreed to join Conference side Southport in a February loan move before pulling out after just one training session. The Northern Ireland Under-21 international scored five times in his first eight games this season, but struggled to regain his place after a red card in September for kicking out at Oxford's Joe Riley. Cobblers boss Chris Wilder is confident Gray can be a success at Sixfields. "James is a player who has always caught our eye, whether playing against us or in games we have been watching," Wilder told his club's official website. "We think he will add something different to our squad. He is full of energy, he has pace and he can run in behind. "He is also very aggressive, which is a trait I like, and he can be a real handful to defenders." Gray has netted 13 times in 69 League Two games and has had previous spells at Darlington and Kettering.
