More time for Seagulls trialist

Brighton & Hove Albion boss Gus Poyet has given trialist Curtis Osano more time to prove that he merits a permanent contract.

Defender Osano last played for Rushden & Diamonds and could now feature in Brighton's friendly with Horsham on Wednesday before the Uruguayan makes a final decision. "I asked him to stay another three days," Poyet told The Argus. "He's been decent, nothing spectacular, nothing bad." Assistant manager Mauricio Taricco is still registered as a player and has been training in pre-season, and Poyet is entertaining the idea of using him as cover instead. "Tano [Taricco] has been good but we're still looking. That is why Curtis is here and we'll see if we can get [a full-back] before we go to Portugal. "If not we will see what the situation is with Curtis, Tano and company."
