Bradford manager Phil Parkinson believes his side showed good character after earning a valuable point at Gillingham.

The Bantams created the best opportunities throughout the goalless stalemate, James Hanson missing two gilt-edged chances in the first half, but Parkinson was satisfied with his team's performance. "All round it was a good response," he said. "We've had periods where we've had a couple of good results and then followed it up with a disappointing one. "This is all positive - the lads were terrific at a very difficult place, in very windy conditions. Strength of character is very important in football and we had real character out there. "This is a massive challenge turning this around, probably bigger than I thought. But we got back together Monday, we regrouped the staff and said 'Come on, we've got to go again'. "You've got to keep fighting in this game because no-one's going to feel sorry for you, no-one's going to help you out. The only people who can turn it around are yourselves and the people you're working with."
