Parky pleased by City response

Bradford boss Phil Parkinson was delighted with his side's character after they forced a late draw at Accrington.

City had been hammered 4-0 by Rotherham last weekend - a result which left Parkinson shell-shocked. But after going behind to Padraig Amond's 74th minute goal at the Crown Ground, substitute Alan Connell fired home an 83rd-minute leveller to rescue a much-needed point. "We were too open last week and we had to give the lads a game plan this week, and they stuck to it," said Parkinson. "We were disappointed to be goalless at half-time as we had our chances. They changed their formation after the break and were more direct and we struggled to deal with it at times. "Then they got their goal and, after what happened last week, I was pleased with the character of the lads to respond. After they scored, our two centre halves (Andrew Davies and Luke Oliver) and Gary Jones drove us forward. "It's tough football as sometimes you play well and don't get your rewards, but we kept going and then we put on the fresh legs of Alan Connell and that made the difference. This was a million miles better than last week."
