Boden ends excellent run of form for visitors

Chesterfield ended Bury's run of six straight wins with a 1-0 victory at Saltergate in League Two. The Shakers, who went into the game on their best run in 50 years, created a string of chances but were made to pay for their wastefulness in front of goal when substitute Scott Boden headed home Dominic Green's corner in the 58th minute. Bury defender Ben Futcher almost opened the scoring in the 41st minute, but veteran Rob Page cleared off the line. The visitors had two further clear chances early in the second half. Sam Hewson somehow shot wide from six yards and Michael Jones failed to hit the target when well placed. Boden then headed the Spireites ahead and Bury's misery was completed as Michael Jones saw his long-range free-kick hit the crossbar late on with Tommy Lee beaten.
