Chesterfield striker Marc Richards will have an X-ray on Thursday to discover the extent of his ankle injury.
The 30-year-old faces an anxious wait after leaving the field on a stretcher in the 4-3 win against Accrington on Tuesday night. Club physio Jamie Hewitt told the club's official website: "We're working to reduce the swelling and after the X-ray we'll know whether there's any bone damage or if it's a soft tissue problem. "When we know what the problem is we'll then be able to evaluate the extent of the damage." After the match, caretaker manager Tommy Wright said: "It doesn't look too good. We are hoping it's not a bad one but he was quite pale and looked in pain."
