Watson: I have the credentials

Kevin Watson believes his role as a Sky Sports pundit will serve him well if he is appointed as the new Rotherham manager.
Watson, who captained the Millers to back-to-back promotions at the turn of the century, has applied for the role which became vacant on Monday following the sacking of Andy Scott and he is confident he has all the credentials required. "I was assistant to Mick Harford at Luton when we won the JPT and I managed the reserves and we won the league," the former midfielder said. "I thoroughly enjoyed that side of the game and then the Sky job came along. "What I have in my favour is the last two years, I have watched a hell of a lot of games at every level and I have that behind me. "My experience and success I had as a player also stands me at good stead. I have been in promotion-winning dressing rooms. I have worked under a lot of experienced managers that I feel I could call on if I was ever in a first-team post. "I have made it quite clear I would like a crack at it. I would like to put something back into the game, especially at somewhere where I have had success before."
