Fuming Evans cracks the whip

Rotherham manager Steve Evans ordered his team in for a Sunday training session after they were hammered 6-2 by Port Vale.
Ex-Millers striker Pope was in inspired form at Vale Park, netting four and being involved in Louis Dodds and Ashley Vincent's strikes. Many of the travelling fans had left as Rotherham fell 4-0 behind after 31 minutes, before Michael O'Connor scored and Daniel Nardiello's penalty salvaged some pride. Evans said: "The first half hour was as bad as we've been defensively. The back four and the two centre-midfield players were all over the place. "We lacked the discipline to mark people and track runners and it was embarrassing. There could have been even more damage done before half-time." The former Crawley managed added: "There are no excuses. The players have let themselves down, the club down and certainly the fans down. They have paid hard-earned money to come here and deserved much, much better than that."
