No new Shots deal for Spencer

Aldershot manager Dean Holdsworth has not offered a new deal to out-of-contract striker Damian Spencer.

Following a successful loan spell at the EBB Stadium at the end of the 2009/10 season, Spencer penned a one-year agreement last summer and duly started the campaign in promising form. But a cruciate ligament injury sustained in training in October ruled him out for three months before the 29-year-old regained his fitness on loan at non-league Eastbourne. Spencer returned to the Shots in mid-March to end the season with a total of 21 appearances, 10 of which from the bench, and five goals. But having considered his options, Holdsworth told the club's official website: "I have had a conversation with Damian and due to our financial capacity we will not be offering him a contract. "I wish him well for the future and thank John [Halls, who has signed for Wycombe] and Damian for their service to Aldershot Town Football Club."
