Morecambe boss Jim Bentley has hailed Andy Parrish for winning League Two player of the year at the North West Football Awards.
The 23-year-old defender scooped the regional gong at an ceremony at Old Trafford on Monday night. "Andy had a great season last year and deserved the recognition he got," Bentley told Morecambe's official website. "He is a player who just gets better and better, is a dream to manage and I am really pleased that he has received this award." Parrish himself chose to pay tribute to the support he has received from Shrimps' fans. He added: "It was great to hear that I had won the award and I really would like to thank all the Morecambe fans who voted for me, it makes it all the more special."
