Campbell: It's been emotional

Stuart Campbell has spoken of his "emotional" departure from Bristol Rovers, saying a big part of his life was spent at the club.
Campbell, who played more than 300 times for Rovers as well as managing the side to promotion from League Two in 2007, left the Memorial Stadium on Tuesday after manager Paul Buckle informed the 34-year-old that he did not feature in his plans. Now a free agent, Campbell reflected on three-quarters-of-a-decade with the Pirates. He told the Bristol Evening Post: "Leaving is obviously emotional for me because I have been here for seven-and-a-half years - that's a big part of my life, not just my footballing career. "From the moment I walked in the door here, people made me feel very welcome and I can't thank the supporters enough for that. They have been fantastic with me from day one. "Two of my children have been born here and are proud to call themselves Bristolians."
