Paul refusing to Buckle

Paul Buckle remained defiant after more calls for his dismissal by angry Bristol Rovers fans, who saw their team concede four goals.

For the second successive home game the manager left the pitch to chants of "We want Buckle out" as supporters vented their frustration over two months without an npower League Two win. The former Torquay boss admitted the first half display was the worst since he took charge last summer. But he is in no mood to walk away, despite the increasing pressure. "Supporters are entitled to express their views, but they won't scare me off," he said. "I don't know what the thoughts of the board are, You will have to ask them. "I am just intent on getting on with the job I was brought here to do. It isn't easy to transform fortunes at a relegated club and this season has been about getting players out, as much as bringing new ones in. "I can't wait for the new transfer window to open because we desperately need to strengthen at the back. I hope we might be able to do some business before Monday's trip to Barnet. I couldn't believe some of the defending in the first half."
