League Two outfit Macclesfield have signed Nantwich striker Ben Mills for an undisclosed five-figure fee.
The 22-year-old, a mainstay of the Staffordshire non-league scene in recent years, has 12 goals to his name in the Evo-Stik Premier Division this term. Mills has penned an 18-month contract at Moss Rose and boss Gary Simpson feels his physical presence can add an important ingredient to the Silkmen's attack. "He's a big lad, he puts himself around," Simpson said. "He's a rough diamond, we're hoping to polish him up a little bit and we're hoping he can score a few goals. "It's something that I think we needed - we've got more of the other sort who are quick, sharp runners. A big one who can put centre-halves under pressure and knock people about a bit is what we were short of."
