Evans sees Devils in the race

Steve Evans has high hopes for his Crawley team after overseeing a strong performance in a goalless draw at Southend.

Town might have claimed all three points if Cameron Belford had not denied Billy Clarke from the penalty spot after Blues skipper Chris Barker was dismissed for handling on the goalline. The Shrimpers found themselves reduced to nine men when striker Liam Dickinson was carried off on a stretcher with all substitutes already utilised. "I'm looking forward to the next 14 games and if we can keep the same energy that we showed then we will get promoted," Evans said. "We go away disappointed that we did not get the win but we desperately have to add some goalscorers to the team, but if we continue to play like that then they will go in for us. "We battered Southend when it was 11 v 11, 11 v 10 and 11 v 9 and the ball was doing everything but going in the net. "But if we continue to play with that skill and quality then we will be alright and will be in the shake-up come the end of the season."
