Stevens buoyed after scan

Torquay have received a huge boost with the news Danny Stevens' injury is nothing like as bad as first feared.

The in-form winger was stretchered off during Saturday's 1-0 win over Crawley amid fears his season was over with a broken ankle. But scans have subsequently ruled out a break and Stevens could soon be back in action. "It's a good result, considering what we thought," manager Martin Ling told the club website. "The ankle looked fairly normal, although there was a bit of bruising. "For someone who went off on a stretcher on Saturday, the end result is relatively decent. I don't want to put a timescale on it but it's weeks, not months - and maybe even days."
