Norwegians buy Stanley shares

A group of Norwegian supporters have become the latest fans to buy a share in Accrington.

The supporters, known as The Norwegian Fellowship, have followed Stanley for eight years and were at the Crown Ground for last weekend's League Two win over Northampton. "We have supported this fantastic club for the last eight years, after we met some really beautiful girls from Accrington in Barcelona in 2003," said Fellowship member Glenn Steenberg. "Ever since our first trip in 2004 we have been received with open arms and great hospitality on our annual visit to the Crown Ground. When the club gave us the opportunity to invest in Stanley's future it was easy for us to make the decision. "After seven trips with no wins, we took home three points in the first match after our investment decision. We expect this to be the first of many future wins for us to celebrate at the Crown Ground." Accrington have sold more than 600 shares at a cost of £100 each since the club launched a £1million share issue last October. High-profile buyers have included former England cricketer David Lloyd - who has since become a Stanley board member - and Sir Alex Ferguson.
