Alexander: We got out of jail

Fleetwood boss Graham Alexander admitted his side had got out of jail after watching them beat Mansfield 5-4.

An injury time penalty from Antoni Sarcevic sealed the Fleetwood midfielder's first Football League hat-trick and the most dramatic of victories, coming after Mansfield had clawed back a two-goal deficit to make it 4-4. Alexander, who also saw Gareth Evans grab a double, said: "At the end of the day it's about winning matches but we have to be honest and say defensively we weren't good enough. We've got away with it. "The lads have got themselves off. To twice throw the game away, first and second half, was tough but they never stopped. "It was two teams going at it with both barrels attacking wise but there'll be two managers asking questions about the way their sides have defended. "I stayed in my seat for the fifth goal because I didn't know if there'd be another equaliser in the 10 seconds remaining. "I didn't want to celebrate."
