Burton manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has signed experienced striker Mickael Antoine-Curier on a short-term contract.

The 31-year-old, who earlier in his career has spells with Preston, Nottingham Forest, Brentford and Oldham, has put pen to paper on a deal with the League Two promotion chasers until the end of the season. Antoine-Curier has been training with Albion after leaving Scottish Premiership club Hamilton this month. He is a free agent and arrives at the Pirelli Stadium as a replacement for the injured Jacob Blyth, who is out for at least a month with a torn thigh muscle. "He is a big player like Jacob Blyth which is what we need after his injury," said Hasselbaink. "He has scored eight goals in the Scottish Premier League so far this season and I look forward to working with him." Antoine-Curier has also had stints at Rochdale, Sheffield Wednesday and Notts County, as well as spells with clubs in Norway, Cyprus, Malaysia, Kazakhstan and Scotland.
