Dons march into second round

George Williams became MK Dons' youngest ever goalscorer as they beat non-league Nantwich Town 6-0 in the FA Cup first round.

Williams, aged just 16, climbed off the bench to net the final goal against the Northern Premier League outfit following Dean Bowditch's brace and strikes from Mathias Doumbe, Daniel Powell and substitute James O'Shea. Doumbe broke the Dabbers' resistance after 27 minutes when he headed home Bowditch's corner via the inside of the post - just moments after Matt Bailey had powered a free header over for the visitors. Bowditch doubled the Dons' lead just three minutes later, playing a neat one-two with Balanta before slotting the ball underneath Nantwich goalkeeper Jonny Brain. Aleksandrs Solovjovs wasted a chance to pull a goal back for the Dabbers when he fired straight at David Martin from a quick throw-in before Bowditch curled in a 20-yard free-kick to make it 3-0 nine minutes after the break. Powell made it 4-0 by slotting past Brain one-on-one before O'Shea fired into the top corner and Williams coolly rounded Brain at the death to seal the rout.
