Good Will hunting JPT glory

Image: Panthe and Akinde: Battle for possession

Will Hoskins volleyed a 90th-minute winner for Bristol Rovers to knock Aldershot out of the JPT with a 1-0 win.

The striker produced a bullet finish to substitute Charlie Reece's cross to settle an entertaining clash and leave the Shots rueing Luke Gutteridge's missed 63rd-minute penalty. Mikkel Andersen, who saved the spot-kick, was also on hand to make several fine saves but not as many as opposite number Jamie Young, who denied Rovers on half a dozen occasions. Both sides played open attacking football to please a crowd of more than 4,000, boosted by nearly 2,000 children who had been issued with free tickets by Rovers. Aldershot played their part, but Hoskins, who netted Rovers' late winner at Huddersfield on Saturday, was again the hero.
