Pitman bemoans poor defending

Hereford manager Jamie Pitman believes his side have got to start defending better after losing 3-2 to Rotherham.

Johnny Mullins and Alex Revell put Rotherham two up in the first 23 minutes, but Hereford levelled through Yoann Arquin and Delroy Facey before the break. But Mullins struck again midway through the second half, when he lashed the ball past goalkeeper Adam Bartlett to clinch Rotherham's victory. "We need to defend better. The difference in the game was that we conceded from two corners," said Pitman. "We've got to do that a lot better, but apart from that the energy and the way we went forward I thought we did enough to score a few more than we did. "However, we have got to be more ruthless in both boxes. I felt we were on top throughout the majority of the first half, but obviously they got their goals - one from a corner and one from their striker which took an unbelievable bobble and almost ended in the top corner of the net. "We cannot make excuses for everything and we have to defend better, but we did do well to get back into the game. So it's just frustrating at the moment."
