Cook slams toothless Reds

Paul Cook questioned the mental toughness of Accrington after they ended up on the end of a 5-1 thrashing at Bristol Rovers.

Numerous Stanley players are out of contract in the summer and, with that in mind, Cook has demanded an improvement when they host promotion-chasing Crawley next week. Stanley boss Paul Cook said: "Last week I was a good manager because we had a great result against Shrewsbury. Now I'm a bad one and we have to be more consistent. "It's all down to the mentality of the players. I never talk about individuals, but there are contracts to be earned for next season and contracts to be lost. "We had some young players out there, but they need to learn quickly. Rovers played some very good football and we were never in the game. "I feel sorry for the supporters who travelled and we owe them a much better performance against Crawley next Saturday."
