Simpson: We must start better

Gary Simpson wants Macclesfield to fly out of the traps from the first whistle after another slow start against Barnet.
Mark Byrne was the matchwinner with his second goal in as many games after just eight minutes at Underhill - the third time in the last four games the Silkmen have conceded with less than 10 minutes on the clock - as the Bees won 1-0 in Saturday's League Two clash. And Simpson said: "We haven't started well for the last two or three games and here was no exception. "We were a different team in the second half and if we had got one, who's to say we wouldn't have gone on to get more? "It was just one of those days. I don't know why we are not coming out firing, we have tried different things but I had to give them a volley at half-time. "Here there was a real lack of enthusiasm and endeavour which should be standard at any level. Barnet certainly showed that in the first half. They were up for the game, they were quicker than us, put us under pressure and won every second ball."
