Wedgbury: Game plan must change

Midfielder Sam Wedgbury insists Macclesfield will tailor their game to suit the conditions when they travel to East Thurrock on Saturday.
The Silkmen head to Essex to face the Ryman League club in the first round of the FA Cup and Wedgbury has reservations about whether a passing style will work on their pitch. "It's a potential banana skin at East Thurrock but we've got to go there and be as professional as possible and play the conditions," he told the Manchester Evening News. "Obviously if it's not a good pitch there's no point trying to get it down and pass it." Wedgbury sees the contest as the perfect opportunity for Macclesfield to bounce back from their disappointing 1-0 loss to Burton. He added: "We've had them watched, and we won't fear them but we'll be on our toes. If we go there with the right attitude and the right frame of mind we'll get back to wining ways."
