Horton keeping the faith

Macclesfield manager Brian Horton is refusing to throw in the towel after his side drew 2-2 with Crewe to remain in League Two's drop zone.

Horton watched his side take an unlikely lead through Lewis Chalmers' penalty but Nick Powell's brace, showing the touches of class that make him one of the division's hot properties, looked to have sealed victory for the visitors before Colin Daniel's late equaliser rescued a share of the spoils. And Horton believes his side can find enough points in their remaining three games to remain in the Football League. "We've got three cup finals to go and if we've got to scrap our way out of it then that's what we'll do," he said. "There were a lot of good performances out there against a very good Crewe side. We went behind to a good goal and they could have packed it in then but they didn't. "Colin had rifled one over the stand just before he gets his chance, I was shouting to him just before to keep his composure and he came up with a fantastic finish. "It's a good point, it's a point that keeps us right in there, we've come off the bottom and it's taken us to within a win of Barnet and third place from the bottom, which is what we need."
