Vettori hails one of the greats
Australia captain Ricky Ponting smashed his second successive century against New Zealand - then claimed he is not at his best.
Ponting hit an unbeaten 134 on his home ground in Hobart as the world champions clinched the three-match series 2-0 with a 114-run win.
Ponting's 133 from 134 balls followed on from his knock of 107 not out in the first game in Adelaide.
But the Tasmanian is adamant that he is still scratching around for form.
"I'd had a few good shots, mis-hit a few in a row then hit another good shot and that sort of thing (in Adelaide), today was a little bit the same," Ponting said.
"Whenever you spend time out in the middle like that you can feel confident about yourself next time you go out to the crease.
"For me now I'm not someone that needs to train a lot and hit a lot of balls. I know my own game, my own preparation pretty well now."
Best
New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori described Ponting as the best batsmen in the game.
"For the sheer weight of runs, sheer volume of runs over a consistent period of time," Vettori said, "I don't think there's too many people in both forms of the game that can match him.
"Even with the stats now he's going to be remembered as one of the greats but I think they're going to get even better and better."
