Charlton Athletic have recalled goalkeeper Nick Pope from his brief loan spell at York.
The 21-year-old only joined the Minstermen last week and kept their first clean sheet in 11 matches against Morecambe on Tuesday night. But Addicks boss Chris Powell has been forced to bring him back following an injury to regular number one Ben Hamer. Ben Alnwick will deputise in goal against Ipswich on Saturday with Pope set to provide cover on the bench. Powell said: "It's a shame because we wanted Nick to go out and get some games. "Normally you can't call players back in the first 28 days but if you only have one fit goalkeeper you do get special dispensation."
