Shrewsbury have lost their top goalscorer from last season after James Collins put pen-to-paper on a deal with Swindon Town.

Collins, who was top scorer for Graham Turner's men with 16 goals as they secured promotion last season, was unveiled at the County Ground on Monday afternoon. The 21-year-old had been offered a new two-year deal to stay at the Greenhous Meadow but has instead opted to join Paolo Di Canio's side, who won the League Two title ahead of Town last season. Shrewsbury will be entitled to compensation for the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international as he is under 24. That will be decided by a tribunal unless the two clubs can agree a fee. Collins joined Town from Aston Villa in January 2011 and scored 22 goals for the club in total.
