Still upbeat after defeat

John Still focused on the positives after his 10-man Dagenham side fell to a 3-1 defeat against Southend.

The hosts had an extra man for 83 minutes after Luke Wilkinson was sent off for a professional foul on Gavin Tomlin. And a first-half brace from Britt Assombalonga sent the Shrimpers on their way to a third home victory in eight days before defender Ryan Cresswell sealed the victory after the break. Still was critical of the man in the middle Lee Collins, and said: "I was disappointed by the referee's decisions and I certainly didn't think they helped the game. "But even when we went down to 10 men we got a goal back and then a couple of chances to get an equaliser. "Southend got their third goal straight after which is also disappointing, but there were positives for us to take out of the game and we just need to keep on working hard to turn our performances in to wins."
