Northampton midfielder Joe Burnell is out to put his injury problems behind him as he looks to gain an extended run in the side. Burnell has made only four starts for the Cobblers this season, but the 27-year-old is hoping to build on his performance against Darlington in the FA Cup first round on Saturday and string a succession of matches together. He told the club's official website: "This season has been a bit difficult for me so far because I've been in and out of the side a bit with different injuries. "When you are not in the team it can be frustrating but you just have to get your head down, work hard in training and just get on with it really. "The manager made a few changes to the team on Saturday and that gave the lads that haven't been playing recently, including myself, the chance to show the gaffer what we can do. I think I did okay and hopefully I'll be in the team again at Crewe on Saturday."
