Hosts wait on Thompson, loan signings in Bury squad
Bury have three loan signings in the squad for Saturday's League Two game at Morecambe, who are waiting on Garry Thompson.
Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Sean McAllister, who has not featured for the Owls this season, has joined the Shakers for an initial month.
He has spent the last two months on loan at Mansfield, where he made seven appearances.
Midfielder Liam Hughes, 19, has joined on loan from Wolves until January and the Shakers' third new arrival is Tom Sharpe from Nottingham Forest. The 19-year-old central defender will be at Gigg Lane until December 31.
Meanwhile, captain Dave Challinor underwent surgery on Wednesday to repair his injured knee.
The defender will be out of action for two weeks after he hyper-extended his knee in last week's 2-0 win over Peterborough and the operation should repair and clean out any cartilage damage.
Striker Andy Bishop is not quite 100 per cent fit, but is still expected to lead the Bury line.
Morecambe news
Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy is hoping to have midfielder Thompson available for the fixture.
Thompson has been struggling with a hamstring injury, but could be passed fit to return against the Shakers.
His availability should leave McIlroy with a near full-strength squad to choose from as the Shrimps seek to push into the top half of League Two.
