Saints struggling with injuries ahead of Seasiders clash
Southampton will be looking to climb into the top half of the Championship table as they entertain Blackpool.
Inigo Idiakez and Wayne Thomas are the latest additions to a lengthy casualty list for Saints.
Spanish playmaker Idiakez and centre-half Thomas are both struggling with Achilles injuries and are major doubts for the weekend.
Thomas' absence will be keenly felt as fellow defenders Alexander Ostlund (hamstring) and Darren Powell (calf) are not ready to return, Lucien Mettomo (hamstring) is short of match fitness and Claus Lundekvam (ankle) and Chris Makin (hip) are long-term absentees.
Grzegorz Rasiak played the first half of Poland's 2-2 draw with Serbia on Wednesday and will be assessed upon his return.
Bartosz Bialkowski could push Kelvin Davis for the goalkeeper's jersey following the 5-0 drubbing at Sheffield Wednesday last time out.
Slusarski set for Blackpool debut
Blackpool boss Simon Grayson will hand a debut to on-loan West Brom striker Bartosz Slusarski for the trip to Southampton.
Slusarski has joined The Seasiders on loan until New Year's Day but a clause in the deal states he may be recalled after 28 days.
The Poland international signed for the Baggies in the summer for £680,000 but has found first team appearances hard to come by due to the excellent form of strikers Kevin Phillips, Ishmael Miller, Craig Beattie and Roman Bednar.
Meanwhile, fellow striker Ben Burgess resumes full training on Monday and is hoping to return after an ankle injury sustained against Colchester in September.
