Boss rings the changes after shock cup draw
Lee Sinnott is aiming to shake Port Vale 'to its bones' following the club's surprise FA Cup draw with Chasetown.
Vale were held at home by the non-league side in the second round tie on Sunday and Sinnott has been quick to react to the shock result.
He has passed the captaincy from George Pilkington to Luke Rodgers, and has left several senior players out of his squad for Tuesday's League One game with Leeds United.
Explaining his decisions, the recently-appointed Vale boss told reporters: "The thinking is I have to shake this club to its bones.
"People will look on the decision to make Luke captain as being a negative towards George Pilkington.
"I can assure them that is not the case, but I have to use everything at my disposal to shake things up by putting everybody on their toes.
"That is why Luke Rodgers will be captain tomorrow. I will assess it game by game.
"The decision is not centred at George Pilkington, it is directed at the whole squad. It is as if to say I am changing the captain and taking it game by game because of what we have all done so far, not what George has done."
