Barnsley defender Rob Atkinson has extended his loan spell at Grimsby for another month.
Barnsley defender Rob Atkinson has extended his loan spell at Grimsby for another month. The 20-year-old has made seven appearances for Alan Buckley's side since first arriving at Blundell Park at the end of November. Atkinson, who made his Tykes debut as a 16-year-old against Luton in March 2004, appeared eight times for Simon Davey's side last season. But after the summer arrival of central defensive pair Dennis Souza and Stephen Foster, Atkinson has been forced to go out on loan to play first-team football.
