Robins striker near to loan move
Leyton Orient are among the clubs chasing Bristol City striker Steve Brooker, who is set to move out on loan.
Brooker has recovered from a knee injury and City boss Gary Johnson has confirmed 20 clubs want to sign the forward.
Cheltenham Town have been linked with a bid, while Orient boss Martin Ling admits he would be interested in a deal.
"Steve Brooker is a striker that we would be interested in because he fits the bill of the kind of forward we are looking for," Ling told the
Epping Forest Guardian.
Real presence
"But judging by what I have read Gary Johnson saying this week, there are an awful lot of other clubs who are of the same thinking.
"He is someone that we will enquire about because while he might only be 6ft, I would put him in the same bracket as Gary Alexander in that he is still a real presence in the air.
"The lad also has an excellent scoring record at this level, and while he has had his injury problems, that has never stopped me from signing people in the past."
