Daggers stunned by double blow

There was no manager of the month curse for Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy as his side won 2-0 at Dagenham.

O'Carroll and Drummond goals ensure away win

Two goals in as many minutes meant there was no manager of the month curse for Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy as his side won 2-0 at Dagenham. Diarmuid O'Carroll opened the scoring for the visitors, glancing a header in from Henry McStay's cross after 16 minutes, while Stewart Drummond volleyed the second moments later. Daggers improved in the second half and Shrimpers keeper Barry Roche made fine blocks from Matt Ritchie and Scott Griffiths. But Morecambe could have won by more as Wayne Curtis and Michael Twiss were denied by Tony Roberts.
