Carlisle manager Greg Abbott wants to keep Vincent Pericard beyond January.

But Cumbrians acknowledge that it will be tough to keep striker

Carlisle manager Greg Abbott was anxious to play down the striking masterclass delivered by Vincent Pericard in the 3-1 FA Cup win over Norwich. After scoring a spectacular early goal with an unorthodox volley, Pericard led the line superbly and created a vital second goal straight after half-time. But the former Portsmouth and Stoke forward has only signed for Carlisle until 12th January 12 and on this showing higher league clubs are sure to start taking notice. Abbott said: "He was the Man of the Match. We would love to keep Vincent a bit longer. He's a really good guy and he's been a great help to us. "But the better he plays it's always the case there's less chance of keeping him."
