Torquay v Morecambe preview

Image: Mansell: Suspended for the Gulls

Team news for Saturday's League Two clash between Torquay United and Morecambe at Plainmoor.

Torquay skipper Lee Mansell is suspended for the visit of Morecambe. Mansell must serve a one-match ban for his sending-off in the 1-1 draw at Gillingham last week. Danny Senda is set to return to Paul Buckle's squad after a full week of training following a thigh strain and Damon Lathrope could also feature after returning from an ankle injury. Elliott Benyon and Chris Robinson are walking a disciplinary tightrope having picked up four bookings each this term. Joe Oastler started his first game at Priestfield last week following his loan switch from QPR and he looks set to be handed another chance and Ashley Hemmings will also be looking for his first start following a 35 minute substitute appearance last week. Former captain Nicky Wroe is likely to be left out of the squad again after he rejected a new contract at Plainmoor and was placed on the transfer list. Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy has no fresh injury concerns to contend with ahead of his side's trip to Torquay. Phil Jevons has occupied the bench in previous matches after recovering from an injury and is pushing for a place in McIlroy's starting line-up, with Andrew Fleming possibly making way. Will Haining has missed the last four matches but could return to the squad if he recovers from his hamstring injury, while defender Jim Bentley is pushing for a return to the defence after sitting on the bench in recent weeks. Chris McCready should keep his place in the Shrimps' back-line after fully recovering from a hamstring injury, but Jack Randall is definitely unavailable for the trip to Plainmoor with a broken ankle and is expected to be on the sidelines for some time.
