Season likely over for Fletcher

York striker Wes Fletcher could be ruled out for the rest of the season due to a torn hamstring.
The 24-year-old sustained the injury in last Saturday's defeat at AFC Wimbledon and scans have since revealed he has suffered an 8cm tear, which will rule him out of action for six weeks. Manager Russ Wilcox told the club's official website: "It's disappointing news to find out that Wes will be missing for the next six weeks. "He has been outstanding recently, scoring three goals in four games and looking a handful for defences. "After finding form, confidence and goals, he will be a big loss." Fletcher, who joined York on a free transfer from Burnley in June 2013, has scored seven goals in 32 appearances this season for the Minstermen, including three in his last five matches. Should Fletcher return to full training within the expected timescale, he would have a matter of days to prepare for the last home game of the season against Newport on April 25 before the final-day fixture at Portsmouth a week later.
