Darran O'Sullivan announces retirement from Kerry

Darran O'Sullivan has become the fourth Kerry footballer this off-season to announce their retirement.
Following the retirements of Kieran Donaghy, Anthony Maher and Donnchadh Walsh, O'Sullivan is the latest player to opt out ahead of 2019.
The 32-year-old enjoyed a remarkable career which featured eight Munster triumphs, four All-Ireland titles as well as an All-Star award in 2011.
The forward was instrumental for the Kingdom in the scoring department throughout his career as he helped lead the line for the Munster side, captaining them to All-Ireland glory in 2009.
"Today I wish to announce my retirement from the Kerry Senior Football Team," a statement from O'Sullivan read. "It's a day I never wanted to come, and it is with massive sadness I announce that it's my time to move on.
"I've been extremely blessed to have had a career I could never have dreamed of. I joined my boyhood heroes in the dressing room during the Winter of 2004, fresh faced and straight out of Minors and since then, have been lucky enough to have pulled the green and gold jersey on for 70 championship appearances, as well as having the opportunity to captain Kerry to All Ireland glory."
O'Sullivan's departure is another indication of the air of change surrounding Kerry football at present.
Peter Keane takes the reins ahead of the new season following the resignation of Éamonn Fitzmaurice. With young talent bursting through, there is an optimism that the Kingdom can bounce back next season following a disappointing Super 8s campaign.
