Club Gaelic football round-up: Gaoth Dobhair march to Donegal title

After the biggest weekend of club football action so far in 2018, we take stock of all the major results.

Ulster club SFC

The first provincial clash of the season saw the meeting of Scotstown (Monaghan) and Derrygonnelly (Fermanagh). The Monaghan side were too strong, triumphing 2-17 to 1-11 to set up a meeting with Burren of Down in the quarter-final.

Donegal SFC

Gaoth Dobahir are Donegal champions, as the Gaeltacht side overcame Naomh Conaill 0-17 to 1-07 in Ballybofey.

Antrim SFC

Cargin edged Creggan in a low-scoring Antrim final, winning 0-05 to 0-04 to set up an Ulster meeting with Gaoth Dobhair.

Derry SFC

With Slaughtneil's recent dominance of the Derry championship broken, Coleraine and Lavey faced off for the John McLaughlin Cup, and it was Coleraine who won out 1-12 to 0-12.

Tyrone SFC

Coalisland Na Fianna are Tyrone champions, defeating Killyclogher 2-11 to 1-07 and in the process ended an eight-year wait for a title.

Armagh SFC

Crossmaglen won their 46th Armagh title as they beat Ballymacnab 0-24 to 1-15, clinching their first title since 2015.

Cavan SFC

Castlerahan created history by claiming their first ever Cavan county title, beating Crosserlough 2-11 to 1-13.

Mayo SFC

A late score from Diarmuid O'Connor secured the county title for Ballintubber, as they edged Breaffy 0-12 to 1-08 in McHale Park on Saturday night.

Galway SFC

All-Ireland champions Corofin overcame Annaghdown once again, with four points to spare to set up a county final showdown with Mountbellew-Moylough, who beat Salthill-Knocknacarra 1-13 to 1-10.

Wexford SFC

The two sides couldn't be separated last weekend, but Shelmaliers had enough in the replay to beat Kilanerin 4-14 to 1-07.

Kildare SFC

Leinster champions Moorefield reigned in Kildare, as they beat Athy 2-12 to 2-09 in Newbridge. They will face Mullingar Shamrocks in the first round of their bid to defend the provincial title.

Louth SFC

Newtown Blues won their 22nd county title, beating Naomh Mairtin by a single point in a tense affair, 1-11 to 1-10.

Westmeath SFC

Defending champions St Loman's were downed by Mullingar Shamrocks in the Westmeath decider, as the neighbours played out a tense affair which Shamrocks won 2-12 to 1-11, denying St Loman's a fourth consecutive championship.

Kerry SFC

It was a day of contrasting fortunes for county stars David Clifford and Paul Geaney in Dingle vs East Kerry. The young Fossa star was red-carded, as Geaney scored a hat-trick in a 4-13 to 0-12 win to set up a county final against Dr Crokes.

Cork SFC

Divisional side Duhallow will face St Finbarr's in the Cork SFC final, after they beat Castlehaven in the replay. Goals proved to be the difference as Duhallow won 3-13 to 0-16.

Waterford SFC

The Nire and Ballynacourty played out an entertaining decider in the Déise County's semi-final, with The Nire winning 2-11 to 2-09 to reach the decider.

Limerick SFC

Adare defended their Limerick SFC title, beating Ballylanders 1-13 to 0-12 in Newcastle West.

London SFC

A late free from Owen Mulligan rescued Fulham Irish against Tír Chonaill Gaels in Ruislip, as the two sides drew 1-14 apiece.
