Club Gaelic football round-up: Nemo Rangers dumped out

As the club championships around the country begin to turn for home, we look at the main results of the weekend.

Cork SFC

Reigning Cork and Munster champions Nemo Rangers were shocked in the Cork quarter-finals after failing to score for the first 43 minutes against Castlehaven. The West Cork side won out 1-11 to 0-04, with county star Michael Hurley bagging the goal.

Castlehaven will face Duhallow in the semi-final, with 2016 champions Carbery Rangers facing 2017 runners-up St Finbarr's, who beat Douglas in the last eight.

Mayo SFC

Ballintubber are through to the county semi-final where they will take on reigning champions Castlebar Mitchells. Cillian O'Connor was on top form as his side ran out 2-17 to 0-11 winners over Moy Davitts. Castlebar saw off Claremorris, 1-20 to 2-09.

Breaffy edged past Westport by the narrowest of margins, with goalkeeper Rob Hennelly converting a late free to seal a one-point win. Aidan O'Shea and Co will face Ballaghaderreen in the final four.

Galway SFC

The quarter-finals have been set, with reigning champions Corofin set to face Caherlistrane. Annaghdown are through to face St James', as Mountbellew/Moylough will face Moycullen. Milltown vs Salthill/Knocknacarra makes up the quarter-final line-up.

The All-Ireland champions remain hot favourites to retain their county crown.

Roscommon SFC

St Brigid's and Clann na nGael have been joined by Strokestown and Roscommon Gaels to set up an exciting semi-final weekend.

Monaghan SFC

Sunday's semi-final doubleheader in Clones saw the race for the Monaghan SFC narrow from four to two. Four-in-a-row chasing Scotstown are still on course after seeing off Maghercloone 1-17 to 2-11.

Meanwhile, Ballybay had too much for Clontibret, as they won out by seven points.

Derry SFC

Slaughtneil were held to a draw by Coleraine, and they must do it all over again on Wednesday evening. Erin's Own Lavey drew with the Loup, and their replay will take place on Thursday.

Meanwhile, there were wins for Glen and Balinascreen, who progress to the county semi-final.

Kildare SFC

Reigning Leinster champions Moorefield ran out eight-point winners over Johnstownbridge as the semi-finals were set.
