President of the GAA, John Horan, has stated that he is confident of coming to a resolution with the GPA, after the players body's concerns about the experimental rules.
Saturday's meeting of the GAA's Central Council signed off upon the five rules for Gaelic football, to be trialled in the pre-season competitions and the National Leagues in 2019.
This prompted a strong reaction from the GPA, with CEO Paul Flynn vowing to address the issues with the GAA's chiefs, given the GPA's membership overwhelmingly coming out against the hand pass rule in particular.
GAA President John Horan said he's willing to meeting with Flynn.
"They've asked me for a meeting and we've agreed to meet them," said Horan. "We'll finalise that, obviously I'm going to Philadelphia on Thursday but I've agreed with Paul Flynn that the two of us will sit down.
"We'll have a discussion and see but Central Council have made a decision - we're not a knee-jerk organisation where Central Council are going to turn around and make an immediate change to the decisions they've adopted.
"I think if I sit down with Paul I think we'll come to a resolution to all of this. It'll be sorted, I'm not too worried."
