All-Ireland hurling champions Limerick attended a reception from Uachtaran na hEireann Michael D Higgins on Tuesday.

The President of Ireland welcomed the Treaty to his Phoenix Park residence to recognise their achievement of ending a 45-year wait for the All-Ireland title last August. The Munster county overcame reigning champions Galway in the decider at Croke Park, 3-16 to 2-18.

They were invited to Aras an Uachtarain for the audience with the President.

Limerick have not rested on their laurels thus far in 2019, making a blistering start to the Allianz Hurling League.

After four rounds of games, John Kiely's side are top of Division 1A. However, their last game was a loss to Cork in the Gaelic Grounds last Sunday, and they'll be aiming to finish on a high when they visit Ennis next weekend.
