Ha Na Jang of South Korea holds a one-shot lead after the opening round of the Marathon Classic in Ohio.
The world No 22, who is yet to win on the LPGA Tour, made five birdies on the back nine including one on the par-five 18th where she chipped to six feet.
Jang, a six-time winner on the Korean Tour, says she enjoyed her day at the 6,571-yard Highland Meadows course.
She said: "I like the course. Very narrow fairways and small greens. Very close to a Korean golf course, so it's very easy for my feel.”
Sarah Kemp, Nannette Hill, Wei-Ling Hsu and Lee-Anne Pace are tied for second, while world No 1 Inbee Park posted a 70 and is joint 30th.
The Korean said: "I hit a lot of greens but not really close.
"Irons just weren't as pure as I thought it would be. Missed a couple putts here and there. Only two birdies and one bogey. Not a bad start.
Defending champion Lydia Ko, the world No 2 from New Zealand, opened with a 71 which was matched by No 3 Stacy Lewis.
