Defending champion Shanshan Feng carded a second successive bogey-free 67 to move top of the leaderboard at the halfway stage of the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters, where Dame Laura Davies continues to impress.
The world No 6, who also won at the Emirates Golf Club in 2012, posted five birdies for the second day running to hold a two-shot advantage over nearest challenger Davies.
Having already wrapped up the Ladies European Tour's Order of Merit title, Feng followed consecutive birdies along the back nine with three more gains after the turn, picking up shots at the third, seventh and eighth to set the clubhouse target at 10 under.
"I am really relaxed," Feng said. "I have done well so far and will just keep trying do the same things again.
"This [Majlis] course is about making birdies. Any player who shoots nine or 10 under in one round will stand a chance of catching up with me.
"Every year conditions are a little bit different, so, it doesn't really matter if I break my own record or not. I just want to enjoy it and be relaxed this week."
Davies, playing with a heavily-strapped left ankle after tearing her tendon, produced a late rally to birdie three of her final four holes and match her opening-round 68, while blemish-free rounds from Caroline Hedwall and Pornanong Phatlum lifted them five off the pace and in to a tie for third.
"Probably a better round today than it was yesterday because of the wind. It was really tricky," Davies said. "I don't think I'm at full power, especially with the driver.
"I'm not quite hitting it as long as I normally do, and I think it's that I can't load up and really get through it because I can feel it a little bit, but maybe that's helping me hit more fairways."
Overnight joint-leader Liz Young finds herself seven off the pace despite birdieing her final two holes, with a triple-bogey seven at the fifth and a double-bogey at the eighth the lows in a three-over 75.
Melissa Reid is alongside Young having posted six birdies and an eagle on her way to a round-of-the-day 66, while Charley Hull, Rebecca Hudson and Amy Boulden all lie 11 strokes adrift.
